After These Two Dogs Lost Their Home, They Comfort Each Other At The Shelter

Sweet little CC and her rather large friend Chewbacca were rescued together. CC has got her favorite spot, right on top of Chewbacca, all nestled down into his glorious fur.

“Pretty much every time we walk by their kennel, CC is either sitting on Chewy or draped over him or curled up against him,” said Jessica Jorgenson, the spokesperson for the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. “Chewy, for his part, doesn’t mind at all. They both like being close to each other.”

These two are a lot more than just adorable buddies; they are each other’s, family.

For years, Chewbacca and CC had a loving home together. They were part of a family and were well taken care of. However, after the birth of a human baby in the home, their lives completely changed their lives. The baby had horrible allergies to the duo.

That is when the pair found themselves in the Animal Rescue League of Iowa where they have been able to stick together. Constantly!

While in their kennel, CC is usually perched on top of Chewbacca-like he’s a giant, furry pillow.

The tremendous size difference doesn’t phase them in the least as they walk side by side with one another.

Recently, volunteers took the two dogs out for a day trip, away from the shelter, recently and they found that Chewy and CC also “sit against each other in the car,” said Jorgenson. “Their bond is undeniable.”

There’s only one more thing that these two have to do together….get adopted!

Both dogs are gentle and very well-behaved. They get along just fine with other dogs and even cats. They can be adopted out of state, although you do have to go to the shelter to meet and visit with them first.

All these two babies want is to go for walks and a big old comfy couch for great big Chewy to take a nap on with little CC perched on top of course.
