“Reverse Zoo” Puts Humans In A Cage-Like Tour Car So The Animals Can Roam Free

Zoos get a bad reputation for taking animals away from their natural habitats and not keeping creatures in an environment they actually enjoy, natural and cage-free.

Lehe Ledu Wildlife Zoo in Chongqing, China, lets their animals roam freely.

The visitors are locked in a ‘cage car’ that drives around the area, reversing the roles between prey and predator.

The point of the zoo is to give visitors the experience of being stalked but with essentially no risk of attack.

The zoo houses lions, Bengal tigers and their subspecies, the white tiger, and bears.

A zookeeper accompanies visitors in the cage and lays out chunks of meat to attract lions. Guests are reminded to keep their fingers and hands inside the cage at all times.

While it does seem like an accident waiting to happen, for many, the thrill is worth the risk.
