Elderly Widow Coping With Loneliness After Husband’s Death Finds Neighbor’s Puppy On Her Doorstep…

Sally Rewehooeern moved to the United States from her hometown in Holland in 1953.  Sally has lived alone ever since her husband died in 1990. She is now 92 years old and has been lonely since her kids are scattered across the country.

When one of Sally’s neighbors in Mount Vernon, Washington, experienced the loss of their beloved senior dog Blizzard, they rescued a 15-week-old Saint Bernard puppy named Brody. The very day they brought Brody home, he wandered off. Brody ended up at Sally’s house down the street, and they have been best friends ever since.

Brody follows Sally everywhere; his owners see him following her around the yard as she works in her garden, walking with her to the mailbox and even hopping into her car for a ride!

Sally grew up on a farm in Holland and was surrounded by dogs as a little girl. She says Brody has brought her back to her roots and raised her spirits.

She is more active than ever, thanks to Brody.
