Dog Rescued In Himalayas Makes A Remarkable Recovery

On the steep Himalayan cliffs in Bhutan, filmmaker and animal activist Tim Gorski suddenly became sidetracked. He’d intended to hike straight to the famed Taktsang Palphug Monastery (also known as The Tiger’s Nest), when a stray dog crossed his path. The dog was clearly sick, and had lost most of its hair due to mange.

Tim immediately contacted rescue center Bhutan Animal Rescue and Care.

The rescue center then reached out to a  no-kill shelter called The Maya Foundation to alert them that they had a dog who was “in need of some TLC.” They arranged for the dog, they named Tim in honor of his rescuer, to be sent to there. That’s when things really started to turn around!

Only weeks later, Tim looked like an entirely different pup! His hair had grown back and he was playful and loving.

Tim Gorski could not believe how far his namesake had come, he took to Facebook to express his happiness. “I urge everyone to not simply walk by when you see an animal suffering. Take the time. Connect with the animal. Make the call if need be. But do something. Don’t just walk by feeling sorry or helpless because you are not. But the animals often are.”

Tim really does look like a completely different dog. It goes to show you what can be accomplished when people are willing and able to help those in need.
