When two dogs, who were in serious trouble were taken in by Trio Animal Foundation, Hannah, the dog pictured here, had matted fur making it hard for her to eat, drink, and use her front leg.
The poor girl’s fur had become so tightly wrapped around her leg that it has cut through the skin.
Once the matted fur was removed, doctors discovered several deep cuts on her leg.
Hannah was so severely emaciated that doctors were not sure if she would survive.
Buddy, was the other dog found with Hannah.
He was in even worse shape.
Buddy was so matted it prevented air from getting to his skin, which caused damage and irritation.
Once they shaved Buddy, his skin tore away from his muscle. Buddy lost 18 of his teeth because they were rotten.
Hannah and Buddy spent several weeks recovering in the hospital. Buddy, at age 14, was given only a slim chance of survival.
The two dogs bonded with each other and didn’t give up! When they were ready, Hannah and Buddy were put up for adoption.
Trio Animal Hospital got the most heartfelt adoption application from one family. The mother and father had adopted a 12-year-old boy who had been in several abusive foster homes. The boy is now 17 and an honor roll student who has letters in 3 varsity sports.
They knew Hannah and Buddy would fit right into their family! Hannah and Buddy have a new home and will be able to spend the rest of their lives together!
