Pair Of Bonded Pit Bulls Comfort One Another After Being Surrendered To A Kill Shelter

When an animal is turned into Miami-Dade Animal Shelter (MDAS) this shelter gives them only a few weeks in which to find a new home.

Sometimes, it is only a matter of days, and if they do not find their forever families, they are “humanely euthanized.”

Bonded pit bulls

The reason for this is that MDAS is at full capacity, and very difficult decisions must be made to free up valuable kennel space. Many of the dogs who end up there are also known as “death row dogs” where they are prepared for their untimely end.

Mason and Kimmy, two pit bulls, know the politics of MDAS all too well. Both dogs were adopted from the shelter together, and both were surrendered once again by a heartless owner, who said: “I have just had enough.”

So now, poor Mason and Kimmy are right back where they started. Again they sit in the shelter with their lives at stake.

In a rare instance, the staff at the shelter at the MDAS have allowed the two share the same kennel to provide them with some comfort!

Kimmy cowers in fear from all of the loud noise and shelter life chaos at MDAS, but Mason just snuggles up next to her to show her that he is got her back no matter what. It is a somber situation indeed!

If you or anyone you know would like to rescue these two adorable pups and give them the forever family that they deserve, please get in touch with the Miami-Dade Animal Services at (305) 884-1101 and refer to the shelter ID numbers A1844972 and A1844971.
