A while back, a woman named Alicia was headed home to Arkansas when she saw a homeless man with 10 dogs in a small trailer that was hooked to the bike he was peddling.
At first she didn’t know what to think because she wasn’t sure what the man was trying to do, but when she finally found out the truth, her life was changed.
Pulling her car over quickly, Alicia decided to find out what the man was doing. That’s when she discovered that he had been homeless since 2001. Because of this he made up his mind to spend his life helping stray animals, the ones who needed love because they too were homeless.
He understood exactly what it was like to be treated like a stray. The homeless man, named Steve, was on his way to be with his girlfriend in Indiana and they were going to set up a camp together so that he and his dogs could rest.
Steve said that he found himself somehow connected to the dogs because they were just like him. They all knew what it was like to be homeless.
Steve watched over them like they were his own family and he felt sad and empty when he couldn’t be with them.
Alicia decided that she also wanted to help. So, she set up a Facebook page for Steve and his mission. Within two hours of the page’s launch, donations started to pour in from people who wanted to help Steve with his cause.
One volunteer, named Kelley, even offered Steve and his dogs a ride to Indiana!
Thankfully, all of the help he received made it possible for Steve and his dogs to have real accommodations, food and a warm bed to sleep in.
The dogs were completely thrilled!
In addition to that, Steve and his girlfriend received support from Angela, a lady that runs an organization that offers help to homeless people and their pets, which then allows them to make a better life for themselves.
Thanks to the generous donations and help, Steve is getting assistance in spaying and neutering all of his dogs and they’ll be given the medical attention and general assistance that they need!
