Sugar the horse is what’s known as a broodmare. A mare that’s used for producing foals is a broodmare.
When Sugar’s owners found a stuffed pony at a thrift store that looked just like her, they brought it home for her. Sugar loved it so much, she began treating the little-stuffed pony as if it was a real baby.
