Everyone who’s ever been unemployed for a long time knows how frustrating it can be. Despite applying for tons of jobs, it’s often difficult to even get an interview. So it’s no wonder that people sometimes lose faith in themselves and their abilities while looking for work.
For one job seeker in Canada, looking for employment proved especially frustrating. The man has a brain injury that makes him dependent on a service dog, and every employer he met with refused to let dogs on the job. That is until the manager of one workplace took one look at the man and his dog and decided to hire both.
Recently, home improvement chain Lowe’s Canada went on Facebook to talk about their two newest employees:
“A recent hire is a gentleman that was having difficulty finding employment because of a brain injury and a support dog.
So we did what Lowe’s does best: we hired him and outfitted Blue, our customer service canine, with his very own vest!”
And Blue even got his own name tag!
Isn’t that the best? If I lived near this branch, I think I’d come up with a few DIY projects just so I could go to Lowe’s and have this guy and his dog help me.
Lowe’s Canada’s Facebook post has already received about 40,000 likes and Blue seems to be quite popular with customers.
