Retired Caisson Horse Will Live The Rest Of His Life With Army Veteran

Quincy, a horse, was a member of The Caisson Platoon of the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the United States Army, also known as the Old Guard. They are the oldest infantry unit of the U.S. Army. Some of the members are horses. Their duties include carrying the remains of U.S. Serviceman to his or her final resting place.

The Caisson Adoption Project helps retired horses find homes by pairing them with a human veteran! Quincy, who was recently retired from service, was moved to a farm owned by George Whitaker, a retired Army veteran. Quincy now suffers from a chronic condition that causes lameness in the front feet called Navicular disease.

Quincy will receive the best veterinary care and have a loving companion for life.
