A Husky nicknamed Siberian Hachiko has been sitting in grief since a tragic car crash killed his owner in 2014. The faithful canine has been sitting by the side of the road for him ever since. He endured subzero temperatures and wouldn’t allow anyone to rescue him as they tried over and over.
We haven’t been able to get anywhere near the animal. It only seems to want to get to its previous owner and as far as we know, they didn’t survive the car accident. It doesn’t trust anyone else, and will not even let anybody else stroke it. We advise people not to disturb it, because we are worried it might run under a car if it gets scared.
The Daily Mail writes that animal lovers began feeding the dog and even built a kennel to give him some shelter. The pup had a close call when a truck hit and destroyed the kennel, but they managed to rebuild it within weeks.
Siberian Hachiko shares his name with the famous Japanese Akita who returned to the same train station for ten years following his human’s death. This dog’s grief and devotion has not gone unnoticed, and a campaign has begun in an effort to capture him and keep him safe.
