A UK student named Georgia was vacationing in Crete, Greece. The 25-year-old woman was alone on the beach when two men approached her and asked her out for a drink. What would happen next was unbelievable.
When Georgia declined the offer, one of the men grabbed her arm and tried to pull her away. Then, out of nowhere, a straggly stray black dog ran up to the men and started barking furiously until they backed away and fled.
Georgia knew this stray dog saved her life, she immediately bonded with the dog. However, Georgia was heartbroken when she had to fly back to the UK and leave her savior, who she named Pepper, behind.
Two weeks later, Georgia was back on the island of Crete on a mission to find and adopt Pepper . It took Georgia five weeks, three trips back-and-forth, thousands of dollars, and a 21-day quarantine to bring Pepper back to the UK. And just when she thought her mission was complete, Pepper had another big surprise in store…
That’s when this stray dog ran up and started barking furiously at the men until they were scared off. The two formed an immediate connection, but soon Georgia had to fly back to the UK and leave her savior, who she named Pepper. “When we left to go to the airport, we looked back and Pepper was running after the car. It was heartbreaking,” she says.
Once she returned home she couldn’t stop thinking about Pepper. So, she decided to take a huge risk. Two weeks later, Georgia flew back to the island of Crete in the hopes she’d somehow find Pepper on that very same beach and miraculously, she did!
Georgia knew she would adopt her hero. Pepper was microchipped, vaccinated, and given a pet passport but she also had to spend 21 days in quarantine before being able to fly to the UK. Georgia returned home, then flew back to Crete for a third and hopefully the last time to pick up Pepper.
A week after Pepper came home with Georgia she gave birth to six littlde puppies! Ironically Pepper saved Georgia and now Georgia saved Pepper and her babies from a life on the streets without a home or medical care.
It took Georgia five weeks, three trips, and thousands dollars, along with a 21-day quarantine, to bring the dog back to the UK. But she wouldn’t change a thing.
“It has been such a crazy journey. But I am over the moon,” Georgia says. “Pepper has settled in brilliantly.”
This is a story of fate, hope, and determination. Georgia and Pepper were destined to be together, and I’m so happy they’ve found their way back to one another for good.
