Even the simplest of act can make a world of difference. That is what happen with a little female opossum, who was spotted curled up and alone on the doorstep of a business in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
On Tuesday, the Wildlife Rehab Center shared the the opossum’s rescue story on Facebook.”We suspect she found this a nice place to escape the storm and got stuck once people and cars starting picking up,” the post stated.
“She just bowed her head and pretended she wasn’t there,” the center wrote in a Facebook comment. Rather than ignore her plight, people noticed it and called the rehab center to get her the help she needed.
Luckily, one of the center’s opossum specialists happened to be in the area and was able to capture the opossum, give her an examination (finding that she had babies in her pouch) and then re-release her back to a safe location with a little less concrete and a lot more grass.
As it turns out in the end, all she needed was a little lift.
