Mountain hiking can be exhilarating, but it can also be quite dangerous, especially if you’re by yourself. There are many wild animals that you may not be prepared to face, and if you’re trespassing in their territory, you could be on the wrong end of a very dangerous animal.
But that’s not what Andi David found when he went hiking on the Phoenix Mountain Reserve. Minding his own business, he came upon a pit bull that seemed to be an excruciating amount of pain. The canine made continued efforts to try and get up, and kept falling down.
Andi believed that the dog had broken legs, and made the decision to carry the dog back down the mountain. Weighing at about fifty pounds, the task was a bit cumbersome, but Andi was keen on getting the dog down the mountain as quickly as possible.
It took roughly an hour, where Andi met his waiting wife and daughter, and the dog was rushed immediately to the vet. They took immediate x-rays, but what they found weren’t broken legs.
Instead, they found a bullet lodged into the dog’s neck. The pooch had been shot and left to die, but thanks to Andi’s kindhearted nature, the dog, now named Elijah, was provided with the medical attention he needed to thrive again. Enjoy the below video!
Fortunately, he’ll never have to suffer of face the elements on his own ever again, and now has a forever home with his new family Please share this incredible rescue story with your friends too. And to the monster who shot the poor dog, karma will respond to you!
