Heidi, founder of Boxer Butts & Other Mutts, saw the dog’s picture and wanted to pick her up that day. But there was a five-day stray hold on her despite the fact that she was so cruelly abandoned.
Callie went from being unwanted and tossed aside, literally, to loved just like that. But the organization’s vet said the dog had the worst case of mange he’d ever seen. With deep wounds and a severe skin infection, it’d be a while before she could live a normal life.
At first Callie would just lie around and needed much ongoing medical care. Now she can run around a little bit. Her focus is simply to learn how to be a puppy.
Her fur is even starting to come back, and her broken spirit is starting to heal. But it’ll be at least four months until Callie is ready for adoption. Great job Heidi and thank you!!
Who will be the lucky family to bring this little warrior home?
