Some wounds don’t heal easily. We’re not talking about the chemical kind that covered most of this dog’s body when he was found roaming the streets in a state of shock.
Thanks to RSPCA Victoria, in Australia, those raw, excruciating patches of scalded flesh will eventually fade.
Jasper was found roaming the streets with chemical burns to his face and body. “His wounds were shocking,” an RSPCA veterinarian said in a release. “We’re so lucky he didn’t lose his eyes.” Not surprisingly he was fearful of humans and being mistreated. He didn’t even know how to act or play with toys sadly.
The journey to being completely healed will be a long one, but thanks to the kind and generous donations of people like you, Jasper has already come a long way.
The big questions is, will his broken heart ever mend?
He still collects toys in a pile to guard. He doesn’t understand that he can play fetch. Jasper is frightened easily and has a long way to go to feel safe.
Thanks to the efforts of RSPCA Victoria, in Australia, those raw, excruciating patches of scalded flesh will eventually fade.
The journey to be completely healed for these animals can be a long road. Some will carry their scars forever and animals like Jasper are amazing survivors when they are given the chance.
