Meet Celebration, a seal pup that was only a few days young when she was separated from her mother. She was found stuck in the mud in a U.K. Frampton Marsh nature reserve. And who found her in the much? A herd of 30 cows!
Ian Ellis was bird watching when he saw the cows forming a circle and curiously looking at something. He used his telescope to focus in and was shocked when he realized what the cows were gathered around looking at, a SEAL PUP!
When the rescuers arrived they found Celebration in poor conditions. She was underweight, dehydrated, and soon developed a lung infection.
Skegness Natureland Seal Sanctuary took her in and helped raise her and giving her the medical care she needed and also introduced her to a new seal friend, Charlie.
This week, Natureland decided she and Charlie had finally put on enough weight to return home.
Ellis and the team from Natureland took Celebration back to the ocean, she hasn’t seen the ocean since she was just a baby pup. When their cage doors opened, she and Charlie ran back into the waves they have missed for months!
Thanks to the birdwatcher and some curious cows, Celebration is back where she belongs!
